ASIS International and Chapter Awards

Complimentary Registration for GSX – Global Security Exchange

It is that time again when ASIS International and the Southwestern Ontario Chapter are able to offer awards for registration to the Annual Seminar & Exhibits, now known as GSX – Global Security Exchange.   GSX is being held in Chicago, September 8-12, 2019.  

There are two awards available. 

  • ASIS International: 1 Complimentary Seminar Registration
  • ASIS Southwestern Ontario: 1 Complimentary Seminar Registration


In order to be fair and transparent in determining the recipient, there is some information we need from you.  The Awards Committee will use an Excel tool to aggregate your responses. If you are planning on going to the seminar in September and would like to apply for this award, please provide the following information via email to

  • Confirmation that you intend to go
  • Number of years in the Security industry
  • Number of years served on Chapter Executive
  • Number of times you stood for Chapter office but were unsuccessful
  • Number of years on a Chapter committee
  • Number of years on ASIS International committees/councils etc.
  • Number of years of volunteer leadership in other security related organizations (specify organizations)
  • Are you applying for the Young Professionals Award?

YP Global Security Exchange Experience
Applications Now Open

This award recognizes three ASIS young professional volunteer members who have exhibited strong leadership in the security industry. Applicants need to be under the age of 40 years old. The criteria for this award include age, financial need, merit, council volunteer leadership participation and prior attendance at GSX.

E. J. Criscouli, Jr., CPP Volunteer Leadership Award

The E.J. Criscuoli, Jr., CPP, Volunteer Leadership Award recognizes an ASIS International member who has exhibited selfless devotion at the volunteer level, emphasizing significant contributions at the chapter and regional levels over an extended period of time.

  1. No member of the ASIS Board of Directors (past or present) may be nominated for this award.
  2. No member of the Awards Committee may be nominated for this award during the time in which they are serving on the committee.
  3. No Awards Committee retiree may be nominated for this award for a period of three full years following their last service on the committee.

: Nominees will be judged on the number of years of volunteer service at the chapter and regional level, as well as a written narrative detailing their service.
Award: In addition to a monetary award to his/her chapter and the ASIS Foundation, the winner receives travel expenses, lodging, and a full four-day registration for that year’s Global Security Exchange.

Women in Security Global Council Karen Marquez Honors Award. 

Applications Now Open

This award honors a female security professional who has consistently worked for the betterment of the security industry over an extended period. Nominees should be able to demonstrate how they have supported, promoted and inspired other women in our industry to be exceptional leaders. Nominees must be an ASIS member in good standing but do not have to be a WIS Council member. Nominees must possess a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the security industry or 10 years’ experience or equivalent with an ASIS Certification. The winner must attend GSX 2019 to receive the award.

Organization Award of Merit

Applications Now Open. 

Purpose is to recognize: 

  • an organization that has shown outstanding leadership and commitment to professional development of their own security professionals through certification.
  • organizations that make significant contributions toward the advancement of ASIS certification programs.


Examples of potential award-winning actions:

  • Implementing the CPP, PCI, PSP o APP designation as a prerequisite (or standard) for security professionals in their organizations
  • Commitment to certifying existing security staff across an organization
  • Recognizing the value of security certification across their organization by developing, promoting and supporting the CPP, PCI, PSP o APP designations internally
  • Supporting employee ASIS certification, and participation in ASIS International as volunteer leadership positions on the local, regional, national or international levels, and/or as a supporting organization.
